The building is an old Renaissance palace finished in 1551. It has had various owners and uses over the years until 1975 when it was acquired by Caja de Ahorros and Monte de Piedad de Zaragoza (IberCaja). A stern looking façade and the magnificent columnar courtyard with capitals emblematic of the Aragonese Renaissance civil architecture with Italian influences. The museum is the only one in the world with the full collection of engravings made by Goya and exhibits works by the likes of Jean Metsys, El Greco, Zurbaran, Ribalta, Ribera, Alonso Cano, Rubens, Rembrandt, Goya, Salvador Dali….
