The Condes de Sastago Palace is a renaissance building commissioned by Don Artal de Alagon, 3rd Count of Sastago and Viceroy of Aragon, in the 16th Century. Construction of the Palace, under the expert eye of Master Lope del Chacho, took place between 1571 and 1573. The sober brickwork façade and its slender patio of columns are noteworthy from its construction to the present day, the Palace has been a residence for Kings, a barracks during the Siege, Military Headquarters, Police Headquarters, The Zaragoza Casino..., and nowadays it has once more shed its skin and is an exhibition hall.
